This text analyses the three stages of the conception and the representation of the national identity in the Portuguese Literature written and received in Portugal since modernity. Considering its most recent stage, it addresses the notion of Lusophony and argues it from the idea that the literatures in Portuguese language dwell in non-coinciding spaces and times. And it draws the attention to an emergency of representation of a new subjectivity in the Portuguese Literature.
