Abstract

Longtemps attachée à un modèle d’historisation qui en faisait seulement le maillon de la transmission des philosophèmes helléniques à l’Europe et qui lui conférait pour seuls traits caractéristiques ceux de la philosophie médiévale, l’étude de la philosophie en islam a été entravée et obscurcie. Les recherches actuelles révèlent sa courbe singulière comme reprise conceptuelle de la révélation religieuse. Elles mettent en évidence ses thèmes fondamentaux : une ontologie où la question de l’être se transforme en hénologie, une théologie qui se fait méditation de la souveraineté divine, une psychologie qui fait droit à toutes les facultés et conçoit la perfection de l’âme dans l’exercice de l’intellect.
