Abstract

Les émotions possèdent-elles un rapport privilégié au moi ? En premier lieu, une thèse ambitieuse doit situer ce rapport au niveau de l’intentionnalité des émotions. Ce rapport intentionnel peut prendre différentes formes dans la mesure où l’intentionnalité des émotions est complexe : une émotion porte sur un objet donné et l’évalue. J’examine ensuite trois thèses à ce propos. Pour la première, le moi est l’objet intentionnel de toute émotion. La deuxième fait appel à une forme plus subtile de réflexivité en affirmant que les émotions représentent d’autres états psychologiques du sujet. La troisième situe le rapport au moi au niveau évaluatif : toute émotion évaluerait de façon relationnelle, l’un des termes de cette relation étant le sujet qui la ressent. Ces trois thèses valent au mieux pour quelques émotions et il est souvent préférable de considérer que le rapport au moi n’est pas intentionnel.
