Abstract

Le PS a engagé lors de l’élection présidentielle de 2012 une campagne de porte-à-porte d’une ampleur et d’une forme inédites. Ce dispositif est le produit de la mobilisation de trois jeunes militants ayant participé à la campagne de B. Obama en 2008 et contribué à leur diffusion en France. Ces réformateurs imposent une méthode de porte-à-porte en rupture avec les usages pragmatiques, intuitifs et bricolés de cette technique traditionnelle. Ils sont porteurs d’une conception rationalisée du porte-à-porte qui doit être selon eux « managée », systématisée, ciblée, standardisée et quantifiée. L’article analyse cette entreprise de rationalisation et de managérialisation du porte-à-porte en s’attachant aux raisons de son « succès » mais aussi aux limites qu’elle rencontre.
