Abstract

Dans cette reflexion sur les enjeux des debats qui ont entoure le mariage civil gay en Europe et en Amerique du Nord (en particulier an Canada), Chantal Nadeau se demande quels sont les couts et benefices, pour les queer et pour l’Etat-nation, lorsqu’ils troquent le sang-sexe pour le sang-statut, c’est-a-dire pour un droit qui est pro-famille et pro-nation, vecteur de cohesion sociale. La sexualite queer n’est plus imaginee comme une aberration ou une mesalliance, mais plutot comme un moteur d’inclusion et d’effacement des differences sexuelles, dont l’embleme devient le queer family man. Avec son obsession pour les questions de filiation, le sang-statut ressuscite une communaute dans laquelle les alliances entre les queer et l’Etat assurent la protection du citoyen « ordinaire » : le citoyen normal, raisonnable, patriotique, un citoyen dont la sexualite n’est plus porteuse d’aucune dynamique differentialisante.
