Abstract

Suivant Simone de Beauvoir dans Le Deuxième Sexe , mais sans partager ses jugements négatifs, nous partons de l’idée que les autobiographies et les Mémoires écrits par les femmes présentent des caractéristiques spécifiques, reflétant leur condition à un moment donné de l’histoire. Nous situons Beauvoir autobiographe et mémorialiste par rapport à ses devancières afin de cerner les traits qu’elle partage (les questions qu’elle aborde aussi bien que certains aspects de son geste autobiographique ou mémoriel), et la manière dont elle s’en distingue par son autorité ou par les sujets qui lui sont propres. Nous avons ensuite essayé de montrer en quoi elle a pu influencer d’autres récits autobiographiques de femmes.
