Trois armées, trois milieux, trois expériences

Abstract

Trois officiers de l’École de guerre, un pilote de chasse et de drones, un spécialiste en lutte anti sous-marine et un fantassin, se sont prêtés à l’exercice difficile de tirer de leurs expériences le socle de valeurs et de vertus qui les guident ou sur lesquelles ils s’appuient. Leurs textes donnent trois visions de ce qu’il faut avoir en soi pour agir dans un milieu donné. Tout y est ordonné à l’accomplissement d’une action. Si bien que l’« excellence », l’« esprit d’équipage » ou la « fraternité d’armes » semblent passer du statut de vertus à celui de valeurs collectives, au service d’une éthique supérieure. Le soldat accepte de la servir et érige pour cela ses vertus pratiques, celles qu’il acquiert puis incarne au quotidien, au rang de véritables valeurs à partager.
