Abstract

Dans une cure avec un sujet maniaque, la question de la vitesse – dans la parole, dans les agissements, dans la pensée – est souvent convoquée. À travers l’analyse d’un cas clinique, nous verrons comment la vitesse, pour un sujet en phase maniaque, tient une fonction de défense face à son écroulement mélancolique, mais elle constitue en même temps un risque majeur, car elle peut facilement le conduire à la mort. Pensons au passage à l’acte suicidaire, qui arrive souvent comme un raptus. Comment instaurer du rythme dans la cure avec un sujet maniaque ? Est-il possible de créer le silence à partir de la vitesse ? Peut-il y avoir des intervalles, intervalles dans le discours, capables de sortir le maniaque du processus d’autoconsommation engendré par la vitesse ?
