Abstract

Cet ouvrage propose une synthèse des connaissances sur les modes de recrutement. Il explore la façon dont employeurs et candidats entrent en relation sur le marché du travail et évaluent leurs offres respectives. Les contributions des économistes et des sociologues sont sollicitées à cette fin, en accordant une place essentielle aux apports récents de la sociologie économique et de l’économie des conventions. La perspective adoptée conduit à différencier les enjeux inhérents aux mises en relation à distance et en présence. Elle souligne le rôle des réseaux de relation, des intermédiaires professionnels et des dispositifs qui équipent le marché. Cette optique permet également de porter un regard critique sur les modes d’évaluation des candidats, sur les repères d’appariement et les méthodes utilisées, en insistant sur toutes les incertitudes qui entourent le jugement des compétences. L’ambition est ainsi d’élargir le débat portant sur la discrimination à tout ce qui concourt à nourrir les exclusions.
