El Poema de los Infantes de Lara en Menéndez Pidal y su escuela

Abstract

Ce travail se propose de signaler le sens qu’eut, dans l’œuvre de Menendez Pidal, son etude de la premiere heure sur le Poeme des Sept Infants de Lara. En effet, comme ses premiers critiques, Morel Fatio et Gaston Paris, le remarquerent avec perspicacite, ce sont ces principes methodologiques qui ont inspire l’Ecole Espagnole de Philologie. A savoir, la reconstruction et l’interpretation philologique, historique et litteraire du «Cantar primitivo» et de ses versions successives jusqu’a sa dilution dans le «romancero» historique. Des concepts comme la datation du texte, la tradition, l’historicite, le sens juridique, etc., essentiels dans l’œuvre de Menendez Pidal, sont analyses a la lumiere de la bibliographie posterieure. Enfin, nous ajoutons quelques considerations sur le processus de transformation d’une tradition epique en texte litteraire conformement aux theories modernes de l’analyse du discours.
