Problemas de coordenação motora e percentagem de gordura corporal em alunos escolares

Abstract

La investigacion muestra que aproximadamente entre el 6% y el 20% de los escolares presentan problemas de coordinacion suficientemente serios como para interferir de manera negativa sobre su vitalidad fisica, lo que provoca que los escolares con estas dificultades presenten un riesgo elevado de padecer las enfermedades relacionadas con la obesidad y el sedentarismo. Materiales y Metodos: Este estudio analizo el componente de masa grasa en 41 escolares de 11 y 12 anos relacionandolo con su nivel de competencia motriz. Para el calculo del porcentaje de grasa corporal se tomaron las medidas de dos pliegues sub-cutaneos (triceps y medial de la pierna); mientras que para establecer el nivel de competencia motriz se administro la bateria motriz Movement ABC, la cual clasifico a los participantes en tres grupos: sin problemas coordinativos (n= 22); sintomaticos (n=8); y problematicos (n=11). Resultados: Mediante el calculo de ANOVA se establecio la existencia de diferencias significativas en el porcentaje de grasa corporal entre los escolares sin problemas y los catalogados como problematicos, siendo estos ultimos los que mostraban un mayor porcentaje de componente graso. Discusion: Los resultados son concordantes con los obtenidos en estudios anteriores, tanto dentro como fuera de Espana, y afirman la existencia de un riesgo anadido a los problemas evolutivos de coordinacion: sedentarismo y obesidad
