Abstract

Lejos del mal disimulado desprecio en que se ha venido manteniendo al Viaje del Parnaso, este se perfila como uno de los mas maduros alardes de lengua y estilo realizados por Cervantes. Testamento literario a la vez que obra netamente satirica e incursa en la literatura del loco, recurre a un vocabulario abigarrado a la busca de los efectos mas comicos. Una serie de eufemismos hasta ahora no reconocidos alcanzan alli los que cabria considerar extremos y antologicos atentados de Cervantes en desafio de los interdictos linguisticos de su tiempo.Far from the scarcely hidden scorn in which the Viaje del Parnaso has been kept for a long time, it displays some of the most mature achievements ever attained by Cervantes as to language and style. A literary testament, as well as a thoroughly satiric work within the genre of Fool literature, it gives way to a gaudy vocabulary in its search for the most cheerful effects.
