En la trastienda de los Cromberger: las tres ediciones sevillanas de El cortesano de Castiglione ( c. 1539, 1542 y 1549)

Abstract

El presente trabajo identifica y data las tres ediciones de El cortesano de Castiglione (en la traducción de Juan Boscán) impresas en Sevilla por los Cromberger ( c . 1539, 1542 y 1549). Para ello, da noticia de la hibridación de pliegos detectada en un singular ejemplar (BNE, R-931) y saca a la luz tres nuevos testimonios (desconocidos hasta la fecha) que revelan en su integridad la composición tipográfica de la primera edición crombergiana. Con el apoyo de este hallazgo, se analizan las modificaciones introducidas en la disposición, estética y formato del libro impreso por parte de Juan Cromberger y se ofrece, a partir del cotejo de variantes, la reconstrucción del stemma que dibuja la tradición textual de El cortesano en su primera etapa de difusión en España.
