Eufemismo y disfemismo léxico en la designación del inmigrante 'sin papeles'

Abstract

Este artículo analiza el tratamiento que el inmigrante sin permiso de residencia en España recibe en el discurso periodístico a través del léxico empleado en su designación. Para ello, tomando como marco teórico el Análisis Crítico del Discurso, se analizan los sustitutos léxicos de naturaleza eufemística y disfemística del inmigrante sin papeles en una muestra representativa de la prensa de Alicante, provincia que se puede tomar como ejemplo paradigmático de la destacada presencia del fenómeno migratorio en España. Los resultados del análisis demuestran que las etiquetas de atenuación y ofensa verbal mediante las que se caracteriza al inmigrante irregular en el corpus consultado no favorecen, en líneas generales, su integración social, en tanto le asocian a ilegalidad y le consideran como una amenaza para la ciudadanía.
