Upaya Penanaman Nilai Toleransi Beragama untuk Mengembangkan Karakter Toleransi Anak Usia Dini

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya nilai toleransi beragama dalam membentuk nilai pendidikan karakter pada anak usia dini. Berfokus pada aktivitas penunjang pembelajaran yang mempengaruhi terlihatnya nilai-nilai toleransi beragama secara alamiah dan mendalam di lingkungan mayoritas beragama Islam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan upaya penanaman nilai toleransi beragama untuk mengembangkan karakter toleransi beragama anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK YWKA Kota Serang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini mengunakan observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan secara bertahap yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa upaya penanaman nilai toleransi beragama dilakukan melalui pemberian pemahaman dan pembiasaan pada anak. Anak sudah memiliki 3 aspek toleransi yakni 1) menerima (tidak membedakan teman berdasarkan agama, hidup rukun dengan bergantian menggunakan alat permainan dan saling membantu untuk membereskan mainan bersama teman-temannya), 2) menghormati (tidak mengejek teman, sopan santun dalam mengucapkan salam dan mengucapkan selamat pada hari besar agama), 3) menghargai (menunggu giliran ketika mengambil wudhu, memberi ruang pelaksanaan ibadah dan tidak mengganggu teman yang sedang beribadah). Diharapkan melalui penelitian ini dapat memberi referensi bagi guru dalam menanamkan nilai toleransi beragama untuk mengembangkan karakter toleransi pada anak.
