FORMULASI DAN NILAI SPF KRIM TABIR SURYA KOMBINASI EKSTRAK PEGAGAN ( Centella asiatica L) DENGAN TiO2

Abstract

Pegagan (Centella Asiatica L.) merupakan herba yang memiliki banyak manfaat untukkesehatan dan kecantikan kulit. Saat ini ekstrak pegagan banyak digunakan sebagai bahanaktif dalam bebagai sediaan kosmetik karena memiliki kemampuan untuk menghidrasi kulit,sebagai antioksidan, mencerahkan kulit, dan mengurangi efek radiasi sinar matahari. Ekstrakpegagan mengandung senyawa terpenoid, alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin dan tannin, Penelitianini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi ekstrak pegagan 2%, 4% dan 8%terhadap nilai Sun Protecting Factor ( SPF) pada sediaan krim tabir surya dengan titaniumdioksida 1,5% sebagai uv filter. Efektivitas sediaan dilakukan berdasarkan pengukuran nilaiabsorbansi dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Vis pada rentang panjanggelombang 290-320 nm, selanjutnya nilai SPF dihitung menggunakan persamaan Mansur.Sediaan krim tabir surya dibuat tiga formulasi berdasarkan perbandingan konsentrasi ekstrakpegagan dengan titanium dioksida yaitu Kontrol negatif (F0) 0%:1,5%, Formulasi I (FI)2%:1,5%, Formulasi II (F2) 4%: 1,5% dan Formulasi III (F3) 8%:1,5%. Selanjutnyadilakukan evaluasi berupa uji organoleptik, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, uji dayalekat dan uji viskositas serta pengukuran nilai SPF. Hasil pengujian menunjukan bahwaketiga formulasi krim tabir surya ekstrak pegagan memenuhi standar uji dengan nilai SPFmasing-masing yaitu F0 1,569 memiliki efek proteksi minimal, FI 3,263 memiliki efekproteksi minimal, F2 5,669 memiliki efek proteksi sedang, dan F3 8,904 memiliki efekproteksi maksimal.Kata kunci : Pegagan, SPF, Titanium dioksida.
