Squirrel monkeys, saimiri sciureus, which had been previously trained on visual acuity determination, were presented with six different pairs of geometric shapes. One of each pair was slightly different from the other member. Four animals in two apparatuses and tested by two different experimenters differentiated the two members of each pair 90% correct or better. In this differentiation they all demonstrated both effective learning sets and learning set reversal.
