Abstract

La revolución política liderada por Francisco I. Madero cambió, sin duda, la historia de México. La experiencia maderista llevó al país a la democracia y lo condujo por la senda liberal hasta que el triunfo de la contrarrevolución armada desvió su rumbo hacia otras etapas del primer gran proceso revolucionario del siglo XX. Con Mariano Azuela, padre de la “Novela de la Revolución Mexicana”, el México insurgente tuvo en la literatura a su primer narrador y a su primer intérprete. Este libro —interpretación histórica, filológica y biográfica— analiza cómo el doctor jalisciense se sirvió de la novela para enfrentarse a la realidad, comprenderla en sus logros y en sus frustraciones y dar razón histórica del México maderista tanto en su acaecer como cuando Madero y el maderismo eran ya terreno del mito y de la memoria. Un análisis original, crítico y riguroso, de la historia del México revolucionario maderista a través de la obra de uno de los narradores más importantes de Hispanoamérica.
