Empatia: sceny pierwotne

Abstract

Artykuł jest konstelacją lektur i odniesień, mającą przybliżyć nie tyle definicję empatii w kontekście obrazów, ile zrekonstruować jej warunki możliwości; prześledzić dynamikę jej generowania w i poprzez dzieła wizualne. Hipotezą, wokół której rozwija się ten esej jest przekonanie, że w każdym kontakcie z obrazem kluczową rolę odgrywa coś bezobrazowego, co odwołuje się przede wszystkim do pozostałych zmysłów, ale strukturalnie odsyła także do doświadczenia, w którym etyczny i estetyczny komponent są ze sobą nierozdzielne. Analizując konkretne teksty odsyłające do tego strukturalnego wymiaru doświadczenia empatii, autor kończy swój wywód analizą wybranych dzieł wizualnych rzucających dodatkowe światło na jego rozważania.
