Abstract

Jest to poprzedzone wstępem opracowanie korespondencji między Zygmuntem Mycielskim a Zbigniewem Herbertem, obejmującej lata 1972–1984. Treść listów koncentruje się wokół planów kompozytora dotyczących skomponowania pieśni do słów poety. Ostatecznie wierszami Herberta inspirowane są dwa utwory – Sześć pieśni na orkiestrę (1978) oraz Osiem pieśni do słów Zbigniewa Herberta na baryton i fortepian (1984). Utwory te, podobnie jak publikowane tu w całości listy, pozostają cennym świadectwem związku poety i kompozytora, kreśląc ważny ślad wzajemnych artystycznych inspiracji.
