Arqueologia da alimentação no Mundo Moderno: consumo de comida-bebida entre os foqueiros, lobeiros e baleeiros na Antártica

Abstract

Este artigo tem por objetivo principal apresentar, de forma introdutória, como a Arqueologia tem digerido suas análises sobre as práticas alimentares ao longo do tempo. Nesse sentido, é realizada uma discussão acerca dos conceitos básicos que temperam uma Arqueologia da Alimentação (fundamentada em aportes socioculturais), e é exibido um cardápio no qual se faz uma revisão dos principais trabalhos desenvolvidos divididos em quatro cobertas, são elas: dieta, sobrevivência, significados da comida e experiência alimentar. Ao final, discute-se as pesquisas realizadas pelo LEACH-UFMG, coordenadas pelo prof. dr. Andres Zarankin, nas quais se pretende analisar o consumo de comidas-bebidas entre os grupos foqueiros, lobeiros e baleeiros da Antártica do século XIX.
