Abstract

Considerando a importância, pertinência e eficácia do estudo de temáticas relacionadas com as culturas clássicas para ampliação do repertório histórico, social e cultural, bem como do desenvolvimento do pensamento crítico e da ampliação das competências linguísticas de seus estudantes, e tendo em vista a aproximação entre universidade, educação básica e comunidade, uma previsão da constituição federal brasileira, do PNE – Plano Nacional de Educação 2014-2024 e do PDI – Plano de Desenvolvimento Institucional da FURB – Universidade de Blumenau, o projeto Paideia teve por objetivo promover um curso de iniciação ao estudo da cultura e do idioma grego antigo na cidade de Blumenau, Santa Catarina. O curso nasceu de uma parceria entre o LABEAM – Laboratório Blumenauense de Estudos Antigos e Medievais da FURB e da ETEVI – Escola Técnica do Vale do Itajaí e, a partir do método Aprendendo Grego, da Joint Association of Classical Teachers, permitiu que acadêmicos de graduação e pós-graduação de todas as áreas do saber da Universidade, estudantes da ETEVI, da rede de educação básica dos ensinos fundamental e médio da região, membros da comunidade do Vale do Itajaí e demais interessados pudessem ter a oportunidade de estudar, em nível básico e introdutório, a cultura e o idioma grego antigo. Este artigo tem por objetivo socializar de forma problematizadora os resultados do projeto.
