Sarcoma de Kaposi da laringe - Caso clínico

Abstract

O sarcoma de Kaposi (SK) é a neoplasia mais frequente nos doentes com o Síndrome de Imunodeficiência Adquirida (SIDA). O envolvimento da cabeça e pescoço é frequente, no entanto o atingimento laríngeo com dispneia é raro. Os autores apresentam um caso clínico ilustrativo desta patologia como manifestação inicial de SIDA. Doente de 37 anos, sem antecedentes patológicos relevantes, com queixas de dispneia alta, disfonia e disfagia com 2 meses de evolução. Apresentava formação vegetante supraglótica, tendo sido realizada biópsia e traqueotomia. Os exames complementares confirmaram o diagnóstico de SK no contexto de infecção pelo vírus da imunodeficiência humana (VIH). Iniciou quimioterapia, profilaxia das infecções oportunistas e terapêutica antiretrovírica, observando-se regressão completa das lesões e descanulação ao final do 4º ciclo de tratamento. Esta entidade, rara como manifestação inicial de SIDA, deve ser considerada no diagnóstico diferencial das massas laríngeas.
