relacionadas. ABSTRACT . Lacmellea abbreviata J. F. Morales (Apocynaceae, Rauvolfioideae), a new species from the Chocoregion, Colombia, is described and illustrated. This new taxon is related to L. panamensis (Woodson) Markgraf, but differs by the leaf shape (ovate to ovate-elliptic vs. elliptic to narrowly elliptic), few-flowered inflorescences (1 or 2 vs. 4 to 12), and shorter corolla lobes (3.5-4 mm vs. 6-11 mm). Distribution, specimens examined, and a discussion of taxonomic affinities are included here for the new species.
