Effets de la distance des peuplements par rapport aux douars les plus proches sur la distribution diamétrique de la subéraie en Kroumirie (Nord-Ouest de la Tunisie)

Abstract

Effects of the distance of the stands to the closest douars on the diametric distribution in Cork Oak forest in Kroumirie (Northwestern Tunisia). The distance of the stands to the closest douars affects both directly and indirectly the diametric structure of the Cork Oak forest in Tunisia. The present study which took place in northwestern Tunisia shows that in that area the structure of Cork Oak stands is affected by human activities. As we progress towards douars we observe a sharp reduction of the regeneration process (quite few seedlings and saplings) as well as a general impoverishment of Cork Oak stands illustrated by low densities of the various diameter classes.
