Abstract

Les échanges transsahariens s'étaient développés appuyés sur une agriculture d'oasis. Or, après une phase de crise, celle-ci est en train de trouver un second souffle étonnant, puisque en rupture avec ce rôle d'appui. Le présent papier voudrait faire le point de cette dynamique qui met en mouvement les paysanneries depuis l'Atlantique jusqu'au Nil, en analysant les systèmes de culture pratiqués, les structures agraires en place, et les acteurs de ces transformations. Il termine en en présentant les atouts et les éléments de faiblesse, par rapport notamment au concept de durabilité.
