
Duval, Gilles : Word and Image in 18th and 19th century popular literature. Towards a greater diversification. This study of chap books and ballads in the Georgian and Victorian ages shows that, despite the conservative taste of most readers, a growing diversification is perceptible in the production of most of the publishers specializing in this kind of literature.
