Abstract

L'application des neutrons très lents à la diffraction aux petits angles des réseaux déformés de longue période ou de grandes dimensions, offre des avantages par rapport à la diffraction des rayons X, proprement dite : — l'élimination de la double diffraction de Bragg. — l'existence d'interaction magnétique ; — la possibilité d'obtenir des valeurs de K très faibles (κ ~ 2 π θ/λ, K = vecteur de diffusion). Le point faible des neutrons réside dans la faible luminosité des réacteurs. Cependant, les instruments peuvent avoir de grandes largeurs de fentes (très longs instruments) de grands angles solides (système de focalisation avec miroirs à réfaction totale). Nous présentons une expérience faite avec de tels instruments. Une des applications de la diffraction des neutrons aux petits angles est la recherche des dislocations dans les métaux travaillés à froid. On peut déduire d'expériences de diffraction le nombre de dislocations et des informations concernant leur répartition.
