Formulasi dan Evaluasi Sediaan Lipbalm Ekstrak Umbi Bit Merah (Beta vulgaris L.) Sebagai Antioksidan

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Lipbalm merupakan sediaan yang biasa digunakan untuk bibir yang berguna sebagai pelembab, dekoratif, dan melindungi bibir dari pengaruh lingkungan, dan mencegah penguapan pada sel-sel epitel mukosa bibir. Umbi bit merah merupakan tanaman berwarna merah keunguan yang mengandung antioksidan betasianin. Tujuan: Mengidentifikasi formulasi sediaan lipbalm ekstrak umbi bit merah (Beta vulgaris L.) berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dan mengidentifikasi pengaruh perubahan konsentrasi cera alba berdasarkan hasil evaluasi. Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah experimental dengan rancangan penelitian quasy experiment design dengan one group post-test only yang bertujuan untuk membandingkan variasi konsentrasi cera alba terhadap formulasi lipbalm ekstrak umbi bit merah (Beta vulgaris L.) sebagai antioksidan. Hasil: Pada sediaan lipbalm ekstrak umbi bit merah (Beta vulgaris L.) didapatkan 4 formulasi dimana formulasi I, II, III, dan IV telah memenuhi spesifikasi organoleptis, homogenitas, daya lekat, daya sebar, dan pH. Hasil evaluasi dari formulasi sediaan lipbalm ekstrak umbi bit merah (Beta vulgaris L.), variasi konsentrasi cera alba mempengaruhi hasil evaluasi fisik dan kimia sediaan lipbalm. Simpulan: Sediaan lipbalm ekstrak umbi bit merah (Beta vulgaris L.) didapatkan formulasi I, II, III, dan IV telah memenuhi spesifikasi organoleptis, homogenitas, daya lekat, daya sebar, dan pH. Hasil evaluasi terdapat pengaruh variasi konsentrasi cera alba sebagai basis terhadap evaluasi fisik dan kimia. Formulasi optimal dari semua formula adalah formula III. Kata Kunci: Antioksidan, Bibir, Cera Alba, Lipbalm, Umbi bit
