Kroz cijelu povijest obrazovanja i znanosti traju rasprave o znanstvenim odnosima između društvene i tehnološke sfere. Međutim, tek, nakon pojave informatologije osvješćuje se ključni odnos obrazovanja i znanosti bez kojega se ne mogu rješavati problemi društvene i tehnološke sfere na svim razinama globalne, regionalne, nacionalne i lokalne obrazovne i znanstvene komunikacije. Utemeljitelj znanstvenog časopisa Informatologia (Informatologia Yugoslavica, 1969.), ugledni znanstvenik prof.dr.sc. Božo Težak, u nadolazećoj znanstveno-tehnološkoj revoluciji u koju je čovječanstvo tek zakoračilo, uredničku koncepciju časopisa postavlja tako da u fokus znanstvenih zbivanja afirmira i promovira novi profil informacijsko-komunikacijskih znanstvenika.
