I processi "civili" agli animali fra prassi e dottrine (XIII-XVI secolo)

Abstract

A partire dal XII secolo si affermo nell’occidente medievale un fenomeno giuridico che porto alcuni animali a rispondere delle proprie azioni giudicate pericolose per la comunita dinanzi a un tribunale competente. I processi contro gli animali nocivi venivano affidati dalle autorita locali alle autorita ecclesiastiche e prevedevano la maledizione o la scomunica degli imputati. Attraverso una breve rassegna documentaria e l’analisi della produzione giuridica e teologica a riguardo, si cerchera di presentare il fenomeno negli aspetti pratico e dottrinale, mettendone in discussione le criticita che esso presento agli occhi dei contemporanei.
