Irmandades da Fala: oratoria e prosa non ficcional. Antoloxía

Abstract

No marco da celebración do centenario da fundación das Irmandades da Fala (1916), a Real Academia Galega promove a publicación dunha serie de antoloxías da obra literaria en lingua galega vencellada de xeito máis ou menos estreito a este vizoso movemento de reivindicación da lingua, a cultura e a identidade política de Galicia. Dentro da devandita serie non podía faltar un volume dedicado á prosa non ficcional, non só pola importancia intrínseca que esta tivo naquel período –xa que a través dela se foi definindo o proxecto político e cultural das Irmandades e foi tomando corpo a súa definición de Galicia como nación–, senón porque os persoeiros das Irmandades son tamén os fundadores da prosa galega moderna, o que practicamente equivale a dicir do galego culto dos nosos días. Na presente antoloxía axuntamos a prosa non ficcional (tanto a literaria, como o ensaio, canto a non literaria: xornalística, divulgativa ou doutrinal) coa oratoria, xénero este en xeral moi pouco atendido na historiografía literaria. Ao facérmolo así non soamente pretendemos reivindicar a importancia de ambas as modalidades de discurso e o valor do contributo das Irmandades da Fala ao seu cultivo na nosa lingua, senón que tamén desexamos salientar que, de feito, o galego culto contemporáneo se estreou en ambos os rexistros de xeito practicamente simultáneo. Ou mellor aínda, que a prosa culta e a oratoria en galego xermolaron xuntas, fecundándose mutuamente.
