This article analyzes phonetic phenomena found in one of the monuments of OldBelorussian writing. In the Raczynskis’ Chronicle, representing the second compilationof Belorussian-Lithuanian chronicles, all-Ruthenian characteristics prevail, as well asWest-Ruthenian linguistic elements, which are not always consistently realized. Marginalauthentication was obtained by the characteristics being grounded in the phoneticsof the Polish language and borrowings from Old Church Slavonic.
