Abstract

L’article essaie d’évaluer les transformations qu’a vécues le catholicisme au Québec depuis 1960, en se plaçant du point de vue du plus grand nombre. Il décrit la religion traditionnelle et l’évolution des dévotions du milieu du 19e au milieu du 20e siècle, analyse ta sécularisation et la laïcisation des années 1960 et présente les nouvelles valeurs apparues depuis lors. L’article se termine par une réflexion sur les continuités et les transformations qu’entraîne le nationalisme actuel.
