In February 1995, during the trade forum titled “Recipes For Change”, sponsored by the Toronto Theatre Alliance and Buddies in Bad Times, I had the privilege of being a panellist on a segment titled “The Politicization of The Artist”. At that time I spoke of my own politicization through re-education, the awakening of the consciousness and the impact I could have with others in and out of the artistic arena. Today, I will expand on this theme as I take a look at where we are now as a society, how we got here and how we may move beyond.
