Wiedza boska a wiedza ludzka: Boska synestezja w filozofii Ksenofanesa z Kolofonu

Abstract

Celem artykułu jest analiza poezji Ksenofanesa z Kolofonu pod kątem związku rozważań teoriopoznawczych z proponowanym przez niego pojęciem boga. Ksenofanes znany jest w tradycji jako filozof zaangażowany w dyskusję na temat sensowności wyobrażeń mitologicznych, który jednocześnie postuluje koncepcję bóstwa, różną od opisów przekazywanych przez grecką epikę. Pokazane zostanie, w jaki sposób teologiczne podejście kolofończyka znajduje uzasadnienie w jego uwagach co do możliwości poznania, zwłaszcza zaś w twórczo wykorzystywanym przeciwstawieniu wiedzy ludzkiej i boskiej. Sygnalizowany od niedawna związek teologii Ksenofanesa z jego tezami teoriopoznawczymi nie wyczerpuje się w krytyce antropomorfizmu religii, lecz sięga głębiej i jest oparty na świadomości niemożliwej dla człowieka jasnej wiedzy (saphes). Zostaje ona natomiast przypisana bogu, poznającemu na sposób synestezji.
