Lakes have been the focus of attention for ecotourism on account of their serenity due to the relatively sparse population in their environment, and the variety of recreation potentials they have. As a matter of fact, in search for alternative tourism possibilities, the interest in lake tourism has recently increased in Turkey and in all around the world. There is a broad array of lakes on the earth in terms of their formation features. One of them is the one in Otlukbeli, one of the districts of Erzincan. Otlukbeli Lake is a travertine barrier lake, essentially formed by mineral waters, and is one of the limited natural assets of Turkey with its unique and authentic nature. The aim of this study is to contribute to the assessment of recreation potential of Otlukbeli Lake. The data of the research is collected through the related literature and field observations.
