The research aims to determine specific traditions of anthroponymy in the Evenki’s language and culture. The work is novel in that it is the first to examine in detail methods of word formation in the Evenki’s anthroponymicon on the basis of the Evenki language grammar in accordance with the ethnic group’s ethnographic traditions. As a result, it was found that the name was an important worldview and individual symbol in the Evenki’s cultural traditions that most accurately characterised a person and was usually represented by a new word formed in accordance with agglutinative nature of the Evenki language, that is by adding suffixes to the nominal or verbal stem of a word.
