Abstract

El artículo es una aproximación histórica y analítica, con una evaluación crítica de la antropología brasileña, desde un punto de vista específico en el Nordeste del país. Se centra en la antropología desde sus inicios hasta la actualidad, destacando algunos de los autores e instituciones más destacados que, a lo largo del tiempo, y de acuerdo con los cambios en las mentalidades y concepciones científicas, han ido construyendo y moldeando el pensamiento cultural y académico. Antropólogos como Nina Rodrigues, Gilberto Freyre, Arthur Ramos y otros ven revisada su contribución al conocimiento antropológico. Se concluye con las iniciativas más recientes promovidas en el marco de la cooperación académica entre España y Brasil, con énfasis en los programas de postgrado en antropología de la Universidad de Salamanca.
