La limpia es un procedimiento fisico-simbolico de reequilibrio utilizado en las etnomedicina mesoamericanas y amerindias. Procede de epocas antiguas y relaciona a la persona con ella misma y su medio (fisico-natural, social-comunitario y cultural-religioso-espiritual). A traves de la limpia se pretende rearmonizar a la persona con su entorno, eliminando y expulsando de ella los elementos (fisicos, sociales y espirituales) causantes de su mal o influyentes en el mismo.
