Comparação da qualidade do ajuste da isoterma de Langmuir

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho foi comparar a qualidade das estimativas dos parâmetros das isotermas de Langmuir obtidas via método de Gauss-Newton e de Levenberg-Marquardt. Para a comparação das estimativas dos parâmetros do modelo obtidas pelos métodos numéricos iterativos, foram simuladas 1000 séries de dados, com concentrações variando de 0,5 a 100 e tamanhos amostrais de 9, 12, 15, 16, 30 e 60 a partir da isoterma de Langmuir com paraâmetros K=2,96 e M=0,91. Para a avaliação das estimativas foram analisadas a acurácia e precisão das estimativas da isoterma de Langmuir obtidas pelo método de Gauss-Newton e pelo método de Levenberg-Marquardt. A acurácia foi avaliada utilizando-se o viés médio relativo e a precisão aproximada pelo erro quadrático médio. Os resultados sugerem que os dois métodos de estimação apresentam precisão e acurácia parecidas para os tamanhos de amostras estudadas. Como é possível que o método de Gauss-Newton não convirja ou que o processo seja interrompido pela inexistência de solução única do sistema linear que determina a atualização dos valores dos parâmetros, conclui-se que o método de Levenberg-Marquardt é mais adequado na estimação dos parâmetros da isoterma de Langmuir.
