
No Brasil, apesar das escolas agricolas terem sido implantadas no inicio do seculo XX, apenas a partir da decada de 1980 o ensino agrotecnico passou a ser estruturado Secretaria Nacional de Educacao Tecnologica. Diante dos impactos negativos decorrentes do rapido e desordenado processo de urbanizacao no pais, a reducao do exodo rural e um desfio. Nesse contexto, este artigo visa analisar a evolucao do ensino agrotecnico no Brasil e a adequacao das estruturas escolares atuais, tendo como estudo de caso a escola rural da Fazenda Canuana, em Formoso do Araguaia, Tocantins. Como principais resultados verificar-se que as diretrizes atuais desse sistema de ensino visam a integracao entre homem e campo, a sustentabilidade ambiental e a melhoria da qualidade de vida da populacao, aspectos considerados na elaboracao do projeto para a escola tocantinense. ABSTRACT In Brazil, although agricultural schools were implemented at the beginning of the 20th century, only from the 1980s the agrotechnical teaching began to be structured by the National Secretariat of Technological Education. Given the negative impacts of the rapid and disorderly process of urbanization in the country, the reduction of the rural exodus is a challenge. Thus, this article aims to analyze the evolution of agrotechnical education in Brazil and the adequacy of current school structures, having as a case study the rural school of Fazenda Canuana, in Formoso do Araguaia, Tocantins. As main results, it is verified that the current guidelines of this education system aim at the integration between man and the field, as well as the improving the quality of life of the population.
