
In this study, it was aimed to determine the cognitive perception of students about the concept of Iznik by means of metaphors. The sample group of the study consisted of 185 students studying at the Iznik Vocational School of Bursa Uludag University. Students were asked to fill in the forms that include such questions as “For me Iznik is as ….. Because …..”. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the students formed 112 different metaphors related to Iznik. These metaphors are divided into 8 different categories: 7 positive and 1 negative according to common characteristics. According to the findings of the study; The most metaphors produced were history (positive metaphor) and village (negative metaphor).
