Abstract

La véritable offre de paysage n’est pas liée à un espace aréolaire, isotrope et statique mais elle se déploie le plus souvent dans la pratique du déplacement, de l’itinérance. Certes le choix d’un trajet et d’un mode de déplacement est déjà le résultat d’une projection du sujet à travers ses représentations et ses expérience sensibles antérieures, mais il apparaît que même déterminé par l’expérience, l’exercice du déplacement va filtrer fortement les conditions de conversion du paysage-géographie en paysage-expérience.Depuis plus de trente ans, sous la houlette de Jean-Claude Wieber, les géographes bisontins, ont développé une approche systématique de l’analyse paysagère d’entités surfaciques. Depuis quelques années, certains d’entre eux se sont penchés plus spécifiquement sur l’évaluation des paysages au long d’entités linéaires, en se plaçant dans la situation de leurs utilisateurs potentiels.Pour caractériser le paysage au long d’itinéraires, il convient d’avoir un regard d’ensemble, le moins subjectif possible, tout en réduisant la somme d'informations pour alléger les traitements. Nous illustrerons ici la démarche à travers l’exemple du chemin de Saint-Jacques entre Besançon et Compostelle, pour lequel nous tenterons également l’évaluation d’une certaine sensibilité des utilisateurs au paysage.
