Kompositdielektrika als Energiespeicher - [kumulative Dissertation]

Abstract

Composite film dielectrics of BaTiO3as well as CaCu3Ti4O12 particles embedded in an organic matrix of poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) were formed to increase the energy storage efficiencyof capacitors. Various surfactants were examined to ensure a uniform particle distribution. A successful oxide surface functionalization was achieved with phosphonic acids, leading to stable bonds. The relative permittivity of the resulting composite films strongly increases with rising oxide content. An enhancement of the relative permittivity by factor 5 for 50 vol.% oxide composite films compared to the pure polymer materialwas realized for BaTiO3 composites by adding of an additional dispersant and accordingly a particle ball-milling step for CaCu3Ti4O12composites.Furthermore, remaining surface hydroxyl groups on BaTiO3enabled the direct introduction of particles into the polymer matrix, resulting in composite layers with more than ten-fold increase in relative permittivity and dielectric strength of 170 ± 20 V∙µm-1leading to the highest known electrical power densityvalues of up to 7.29 J∙cm-3for comparable polymer composites.
