Ethikunterricht im ländlichen Raum

Ethics education in rural areas
Authors: Wizany, Daniela;

Ethikunterricht im ländlichen Raum

Abstract

This master's thesis focuses on the research-question of local opinions on ethics education. A Secundary School in the upper Mühlviertel, which according to Statistics Austria can be classified as an intermediate rural area, was investigated and researched. In this study, pupils in the second, third and fourth class at St. Peter am Winberg Secondary School were surveyed. By outlining the recent discourse on the introduction of ethics education, this master's thesis also considers the current legal situation regarding ethics education. An essential aspect is the differentiation of ethics lessons from religious education (of all religious communities officially recognized in Austria): what are the differences and what are the similarities between ethics and religious education?
