Offshore Exploitation of Refrigerated Natural Gas Liquids

Abstract

ABSTRACT Producing refrigerated Natural Gas liquids will improve offshore associated Gas recovery. The following system includes production, storage and loading of Natural Gaz liquids cooled down to atmospheric pressure. Natural Gaz liquids are cooled down using a NGL refrigerant cycle and stored in floating or gravity concrete membrane tanks. Loading is carried out using a distant loading terminal with separate mooring and loading devices. The whole system was designed to meet requirements for safety, easy maintenance and use of existing technology. Detailed engineering of the elements was performed including process calculation, structural analysis and risk analysis. An application of the system will be presented and an appraisal of its cost given.
