This paper describes experiments on the icing of aircraft antenna wires with emphasis on the relation of the icing, both form and weight, to the angle which the wire makes with the wind stream. A refrigerated wind tunnel providing a wind velocity of 80 m.p.h. was used. A critical angle region was discovered over which region the weight of the ice formation increases very rapidly. The diameter of the ice formation increases uniformly with the angle.
