Abstract

Since ancient times, the people have tended to pay attention toprecious stones, they have tried to collect and retain them because thesestones have beautiful and natural properties. For these reasons, theartists and craftsmen have made different and beautiful geometricshapes including rings, bracelets ndnecklaces. The most importantgemstones are the diamond, sapphire, pearl, emerald, turquoise, coral,agate and there are many more. These precious stones have beenmentioned in Saeb Tabriz`s Diwan where his Diwan contains manynames of these gemstones.This paper begins with a brief account of theSaeb`s life followed by the important meanings of the gemstonesmentioned in Saeb's poetry with examples from his own poems aboutthese stones.
