With itssimple visual characteristics, Tahilalats comics are able to become interesting, recognizable, sustainable, and comfortable comics to watch. This study will discuss the design elements in Tahilalats comicsthat form a syntactic visual system as an effort to achieve consistency in each episode. This studyuses qualitative methodologies and descriptive analysis methods with Charles Morris’ semiotic theoryand literacy methods by collecting data from books, journals, articles, and pages on the internet thatare related to the object. Through this research, it can be concluded that the syntactic visual systemmakes comics look interrelated and when there are too many episodes, it will be seen as a unified designthat distinguishes it from other similar comics. The results of this study are expected to be useful fordesigners and comic artists to understand a good syntactic system in sustainable design works..Keywords: comic, design elements, syntacticAbstrakSalah satu komik strip yang terkenal di Indonesia sejak tahun 2014 adalah Tahilalats (Instagram @tahilalats).
